I’ve Been Here, Somewhere is a new demo that responds to Ama Dogbe’s research on collecting, hoarding and the politics of knowledge – who keeps it, how it circulates, and how value is placed upon it. The demo creates an immersive environment that is both a world and a living archive, creating space for the people and things that might otherwise be forgotten.

The work was developed during Ama’s participation on the FLAMIN Fellowship, supported by Film London Artists’ Moving Image Network and Arts Council England.

The demo was presented by  Film London Artists’ Moving Image Network (FLAMIN) in a curated selection of artists’ games at New Game Plus, London Games Festival’s annual presentation of new and unreleased games from around the world. The exhibition included works by artists previously supported through FLAMIN’s programme, including David Blandy and Petra Szemán, Clifford Sage, and Trust.

Produced by visual artists working outside the context of mainstream game design, these experimental works invited players to explore worlds where the future and the past converge, and things left behind can be rediscovered through memory and imagination.
